MEAT THE FUTURE
nurtured by The Vegetarian Butcher
Gallery P61 in Berlin presents a groundbreaking exhibition of digital art that critically explores the question in an entertaining way: "How does our meat consumption affect our society today and in the future?"
Particular attention is paid to the shift from animal products to plant-based alternatives. The exhibition approaches this issue through three thematic areas: Nature, Animal and Human.
It is spatially divided into two levels. The lower level critically examines the effects of current meat consumption, while the upper level deals with the effects of renouncing animal meat on the aforementioned thematic areas.
The opening is scheduled for Sept. 21, 2023 (week 38) and is to take place immediately after Art Week. The exhibition is planned to run for 3 weeks and will open its doors from Wednesday to Sunday.
For this purpose we are looking for artists who would like to participate in this pop-up exhibition and creatively approach and develop the above-mentioned question with their art.
Each artwork should focus on one of the themes (nature, animal, human). The artists can either apply with one artwork on one theme or contribute several artworks on one or different themes. A total of 20 artworks will be exhibited.
The winners of the competition can expect a high media coverage and an expense allowance for the creation of the artwork.
After the call for entries has been sent out, the participants have until 20.08.23 at 17:00 CET to submit the unfinished concepts here on this page via the form.
Subsequently, up to 10 winners will be nominated by the jury.
